Turn photos or scans of receipts and invoices into categorized ledger rows with totals and flagged problems, using Mistral Large 4's vision input.

The attached images are receipts and invoices for [business or household] for [period]. For each document, extract one row:

date (YYYY-MM-DD) | vendor | description | category | net | tax | total | currency | payment method | document number

Categories to use: [your list, e.g. travel, meals, software, office supplies, contractors, other].

Then:
- Totals by category and overall, per currency.
- Flags: unreadable fields, totals that don't equal net + tax, duplicates (same vendor, date and amount), and documents that look like quotes rather than paid invoices.

Write "?" for anything you can't read. Do not estimate amounts.

Replace everything in [square brackets] with your own details.

• Request structured output (JSON schema per row) when importing into a spreadsheet or accounting tool

Variations

• Mileage log from photos of handwritten notes.
• Add a "deductible?" column with a note to confirm with an accountant.
