Prompt
DownloadLet's practice spoken [language] for [10] minutes. My level is [A2 / B1 / B2, or "beginner"].
Scene: [situation, e.g. I'm checking into a small hotel in [city] and there's a problem with my booking]. You play [role]; I play myself.
Rules:
- Speak only [language], at a pace slightly slower than natural, using vocabulary for my level.
- Keep your turns short (one or two sentences) so I do most of the talking.
- If I make a mistake, finish the exchange naturally, then repeat my sentence correctly once. Don't lecture.
- If I say "pause", switch to [my native language] and explain the last correction briefly.
- When I say "finish", list my 5 most important mistakes with the correct version, and 5 useful phrases from the scene.Replace everything in [square brackets] with your own details.
Settings & parameters
- ChatGPT app or web → Voice; GPT-Live-1.1 (and the smaller GPT-Live-1.1 Quip) are rolling out in ChatGPT Voice
- Pick a voice in Settings → Voice; new language-specific voices include French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Mexican Spanish (availability varies by region and account)
Variations
- Pronunciation drill: "Say each phrase, wait for me to repeat it, and tell me which sound to fix."
- Listening mode: "Tell me a 1-minute story, then ask me 3 questions about it."
Tips
- Live voice can listen and talk at the same time, so you can interrupt it mid-sentence to ask what a word means.
- The written transcript appears in the chat; save it to review corrections later.
